A North Carolina Restaurant Group is expanding its footprint in downtown Greenville by buying the rooftop wine bar SIP and The Green Room, officials said late Friday.

The Bottle Cap Group bought the two restaurants from High Street Hospitality Group, said Morgan Conroy, director of marketing for the Bottle Cap Group.

There are no plans to change the menu at either restaurant and they will stay open, but some cosmetic updates are planned, said Todd Justice who is working with the Bottle Cap Group on the project.

Jason Fletcher, owner of High Street Hospitality Group, said it's the next chapter for SIP and The Green Room and that the Bottle Cap Group will take the restaurants to the next level. He also said the sale will allow him to simplify and focus on growing his other restaurant, The Playwright Irish Pub.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Justice said Greenville is a great food town and that the decision was a strategic move.

The Bottle Cap Group already has opened Brazwells Premium Pub on Main Street, and it is planning to open two other downtown restaurants, Ink n Ivy and Diner 24.
