Online travel site names Greenville among the best

Greenville has landed on another "best of" list.

This time Smarter Travel, an online travel digest, added Greenville to their list of best small cities on the rise.

Greenville got thumbs up for its downtown, including Liberty Bridge and Falls Park.

The Drive, an abundance of downtown hotels, the Peace Center and George Hincapie's Hotel Domestique were also cited for making the city vibrant.

Asheville also made the list.

The website noted its "mountain vibe," proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains, craft breweries and the Biltmore Estate.

Other cities included were: Portland, Maine, New Haven, Conn., San Luis Obispo, Calif., Traverse City, Mich. and Chattanooga, Tenn.
