COLUMBIA – Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney left the Houston Texans Wednesday workout with the Denver Broncos 35 minutes early with an undisclosed injury.

According to reports in the Houston Chronicle the injury did not appear serious.

The newspaper reported Clowney looked solid in the squad's one-on-one team drills prior to walking to the team tent where he took off his shoulder pads. He spent the rest of the session on the training table.

Clowney went to the team bus when reporters attempted to interview him following practice.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien was unaware of the details of Clowney's injury immediately following practice.

"We were playing aggressively and he was a part of that," said O'Brien.

Clowney was impressive in Houston's first two preseason games against Arizona and Atlanta despite his time being limited.

The Texans have brought him back slowly after he underwent surgery in June to repair a sports hernia.

Clowney's status for Houston's preseason game against Denver on Saturday has not been determined.
