Home of the Month: The Desjardins
Russ and Leslie Desjardins spent five years looking for the perfect site for their new home. Originally from Canada, the couple spent the last few years in Austin, Texas, before making the move to South Carolina and the Reserve at Lake Keowee in 2015.
Imagine a time over 100 years ago, when a European settler immigrated to South Carolina from France. The settler was a craftsman who built his home using European construction methods with local materials. This was the story the Dejardins wanted conveyed through the design and construction of their home. To that end, Peter Block Architects and The Carver Group were tasked with bringing the story to life. With no attention to detail spared, the result is a stunning example of honoring history while embracing the present.
