Letter: Inform yourself and then go vote on Nov. 4

GRE

Edmund Burke said, “Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.” Let’s apply that statement to Nov. 4, Election Day.

In America voting is a privilege, an obligation, and a sacred trust. It is something I have done on every Election Day since 1956. A good citizen will a vote, a good Christian cannot be a good citizen if he doesn’t vote, and every registered citizen should vote. If unregistered please correct that immediately. Changes in government are made through your vote. Your vote is your voice.

If you do not like the way government is functioning with its lack of leadership, lack of control, non-transparency, lies, spying on us, disregarding the system’s checks and balances, personal agendas, the passing of blame, and divided loyalties, do something about it and vote.

Let’s make this an Election Day where no one stays home, but everyone goes to flood the polling place with positive votes to take back our country and the freedom we are losing. Let’s make sure that our country survives the next two years and beyond.

Don’t let anything keep you from the polls — the weather, transportation, personal interest or health. There is someone you can call to help you with your need.

Before Election Day, please take time to inform yourself so you can be an intelligent voter. God bless America.
