Letter: Obvious choice is ‘yes’ vote on referendum

GRE

Before voting Nov. 4 on the roads referendum in Greenville County, I hope that people will consider two key issues.

First, why is this on the ballot? It is there because our roads are among the poorest in the nation, and we as Greenville County citizens can change that with this vote.

Second, what is the alternative to passing the referendum and repairing our roads? It is to wait for the state of South Carolina to make the decision to repair our roads. We have been waiting for many years for the state to act, and nothing has happened. We can’t afford to keep waiting.

The choice is obvious. If we want Greenville County to grow and prosper, we should vote “Yes.” If we want our bad roads to deteriorate still more, we should vote “No.”
