Jonathan Wyndham really does love Cracker Barrel — just as any self-respecting South Carolinian does. Turns out “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton does too.

“O-M-G, we’re meant to be,” Shelton told Wyndham, a Lexington native, Tuesday night on NBC’s hit singing competition show.

The 22-year-old had his pick of celebrity coaches — Shelton, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams after he impressed them with his emotional performance of “Say Something.” He chose Team Levine.

“I was surprised my whole body wasn’t shaking. I wanted to run laps around the stage,” Wyndham said Thursday.

The blind auditions were filmed earlier this summer, and Wyndham’s success was “the best-kept secret my family has ever had,” he said. He came home this week to watch the episode with his parents, sister and some family friends.

A Lexington High School graduate, Wyndham is living in Nashville while finishing a commercial songwriting degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

He grew up inspired by the likes of Garth Brooks and the Allman Brothers then later expanded his tastes into pop music and boy bands (for which he blames his older sister).
