Liberty Fellowship selects new mentors
Liberty Fellowship has a new class of mentors.
The Liberty Fellowship Class of 2017 are accomplished, successful, of diverse backgrounds and professions, and each has taken a broader role in South Carolina to push for progress.
Liberty Fellowship is a statewide initiative that seeks to inspire outstanding leadership in South Carolina, empowering the state’s young leaders to realize their full potential. Fostering a values-based approach, the Fellow program exposes leaders to diverse perspectives, critical thinking, and intellectual and personal development.
“Proven leaders don’t operate in a vacuum. They draw from other leaders for feedback and expertise,” said Hayne Hipp, who co-founded Liberty Fellowship with his wife, Anna Kate. “As advisors to the Fellows, the mentors will share their experiences, helping the Fellows navigate moving from success to significance and learning how to work collectively for the good of South Carolina.”
Being paired with a mentor is one part of the Class of 2017’s Fellowship experience, which also includes attending four seminars over two years. One seminar – the Aspen Institute Globalization Seminar – places them with Fellows from similar programs in cities around the world. A goal of the mentor relationship is to provide principled guidance to the Fellows in their personal project, the final component of the program.
“Behind the growing network of Liberty Fellows lies a strong corps of more than 120 mentors, many of whom are Fellows themselves,” added Luanne Runge, President & CEO of Liberty Fellowship. “They share a desire to see South Carolina move forward and play an important role in making that happen through their commitment to Liberty Fellowship and values-based leadership.”
